After spending hours trying to repair my newly connected OWB connection I thought I would document the method which worked to stop the annoying Error message 720: Error Network ...
The scenario was that one day I had problems connecting to OWB using the HUAWEI E220 modem. I rang helpdesk an they read these instructions out to me for an XP laptop
- Go to Start > right click on Network Properties > Right click on Optus > select Properties > select Network Tab > select Install button > select Protocol > select Add Button > select Have disk button > type in the field c:\windows\inf [where windows is your installation OS folder] > select Internet Protocal TCP/IP > select OK > when finished Close and reboot.
This installs the TCP/IP protocol on the modem. Apparently when I unistalled the modem and reinstalled it didn't install the TCP/IP protocol for some reason.
