How to make GMail multiple Signatures without using and Extension?
Gmail provides its users with the option of using one automatic signature, but if you wear many hats with your email account you may want to change your signature for different recipients. While you cannot create multiple emails in the standard Gmail options, you can use one of its lab settings to make multiple signatures. Lab settings are experimental features that Gmail has not yet released for widespread use. Note that the setting called "Canned Responses" was available as of May 2011, but as an experimental feature it may change unexpectedly.
Instructions
- Click the "Settings" logo in the upper-left side of the Gmail window. It looks like a gear. Select "Mail settings."
- Click the "Labs" tab.
- Move your mouse cursor to "Canned Responses" and select "Enable."
- Click "Save Changes."
- Click "Compose Mail" to start a new message.
- Enter a signature into the body field of the email message.
- Click the "Canned Responses" button at the top of the email message and select "New canned response."
- Name this signature when prompted. For example, you may name it "standard signature." Click "OK."
- Discard the message you used to create the signature and repeat the process to create as many canned responses as you need for signatures.
- Click "Canned Responses" to access and insert your signatures into any email message.
