BurnDVDNero

How To Burn a CD or DVD using Nero Express

Nero Express is often shipped as a Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Many uses are not aware of how to use Nero to backup their data. This document is going to outline the procedures to do just that. Two of the most common versions of Nero will be covered however I am confident that once the concept has been covered, future versions will be able to be covered using these instructions.

Nero Express 6

  1. Place a new CD-RW or DVD-RW in your CD/DVD burner
  2. Go to Start > All Programs > Nero > Nero OEM > Nero Express > Data > Data Disc
    • or Go to Start > All Programs > Nero > Nero 6 > Nero Express...
    • or Go to Start > All Programs > Nero > Nero 6 Ultra Edition > Nero Express...
A window should appear that looks like Figure 1

  1. Select Add button and browse to the file'/s you want to copy by selecting Add button
  2. Select Finish when you have all the files you want to burn
  3. Select Next button
A window should appear that looks like Figure 2

  1. Make sure the correct burner is selected in the Current Recorder Field (if you have more than one burner this will apply otherwise go to next step)
  2. Writing speed is handy in case your first attempt fails it is because this is set too high ... just go back to the next available speed and try. If this doesn't success, repeat the process
  3. If you want to copy more files later make sure the Allow files to be added later (multisession disc) is ticked
  4. If you are backing up data it is a good practice to tick 'Verify data on disc after burning'
  5. Select Burn button

That's it! Wait for the disc to burn which depends on how large the data is, what speed you computer is as to how long it will take.

Nero Express 7

  1. Select Start > All Programs > Nero 7 (Premium) > Audio / Data > Nero Express

A window should appear that looks like Figure 3

  3. Click on the Add button.
