How Can I Share My Domain Control Users Across All My Member Servers?

It is important to share users across your members servers when using automatic backup, remote access and generally it is more convenient to create your folder shares within all your member servers. Of course there will be situations where this is not always the case, however generally speaking, your users should be able to be accessed throughout your network to help streamline all your administration tasks.

How is this done?

  1. Go to your domain controller (DC)
  2. Active Directory Users and Computers
  3. Select Computers
  4. Right Click the member server you want to share you DC users and select Properties
  5. Select Member Of tab
  6. Select Add...
  7. A new window will open, select Advance
  8. Another window will open, select Find Now
  9. Make sure the Locations ... field has your domain name (if not correct by clicking on Locations and selecting the domain name)
  10. Select all the member types you want shared across the member by holding down the Ctrl key i.e. Domain Administrators, Domain Users etc ... and select OK three times
  11. You will now find all your domain users you have chosen available on your member server including the individual users who belong to that group
